David Bailey.



David Bailey is a very popular and very inspirational photographer, he has done a lot of different pieces of work and they are all interesting. Bailey has done really well for himself and has got quite an interesting career history.


CAREER HISTORY

1959 onwards: Photographer for British, American, French & Italian Vogue

1966 onwards: Director of commercials

1968 to 1971: Director and Producer of television documentaries including "Beaton", "Warhol" and "Visconti"

Films 1992: BBC Drama "Who Dealt?" Directed by David Bailey, starring Juliette Stevenson,

Films 1995: South Bank Films "The Lady is a Tramp" Directed and Written by David Bailey, featuring Catherine Bailey

1998: Documentary  David Bailey & Ginger Television Production "Models Close Up"
Directed by David Bailey Commissioned by Channel 4 Television

1999: GFT Kingsborough/Steve Walsh Productions
Director feature film "The Intruder" 

2003: BBC  “The Real Blow Up”

2004: BBC “ Bailey’s  70’s” Fame Fashion and Photography



David Bailey has photograph many of models such as Kate Moss, Jerry Hall etc. Jerry hall has said that bailey is dyslexic and is very articular but thats just bailey but he is such a nice man that when he photographs you, you feel relaxed and the day just flows nicely and he is a pleasent man.

David has also won quite a lot of awards and these are what they are:

i really like Davids work as he does a series of images that could suit everyone so he likes to pleases his fans, i particularly like his image of kate moss then using oil pastels he painted her face. it gave me the idea of pop art which is what Andy Warhol did with his Marylin Monroe image. I also like his studio work with the self portraits and he just wanted to give the effect of the photographer and model.

with this image i really like the black and white effect, i also like the black background aswell  i think that it works really well, i also like the pose this could be an idea for my future assignments.

i really like this image as i find it unusual and i really like the gold metallic lips i think this gives of an interesting effect.

Fujifilm Film Student Awards- 'The Colour Of...'


FujiFilm Student Awards- 'The Colour Of....'


We have been asked to enter a competition called fujifilm and the theme is 'colour'. we have to take a series of images but submit them singular and the judges will decided an overall winner and a monthly winner. the overall winner will recieve £200 worth of fujifilm film, a professionally produced folio of prints and a one-to-one printing/consulting session with one of metroprint's top printers. the winning image will then feature in an exhibition to be held in london next summer.

For my idea im thinking of doing eye make-up, some that are very simple and elegant and then doing some that are over the top with bright colours, false eyelashes and eye gems etc.
